Starting with this list of pizza joints, each week I will bring you a “Top 5”!

1. Lucia Pizza on Canal Street
Believe the Lucia hype. I’ve had the Papa Leone (Vodka) slice here repeatedly, as well as the Spinach and NY Plain. I normally cannot get out of there without scarfing down at least three slices. Not good for my physique in the summer, but when it’s this good, who cares really? I’ll get in fighting shape for the winter I guess …
2. Mama’s Too
I had the pleasure of visiting Mama’s Too with my buddy the Foodie Magician, Josh Beckerman, and the owner made us his famous off-menu chicken cutlet sandwich from scratch, right in front of my eyes (don’t worry, the photo’s below). It’s pretty heavy but nonetheless incredible. And trust me, while this is also not a low calorie place, it’s in the pizza mecca of the West Village, and it’s totally worth the wait. I’ve tried most of the slices, but the Angry Nonna was my jam.
