I want to talk about some of the artists that are coming up in concert in NYC!
You’re on the list! - Scott’s NY Concert Picks
Bad Suns
Bad Suns will perform a sold-out show this week on June 18 (tonight) at Bowery Ballroom. People say rock is dead, but I’m here to tell you that it’s certainly alive and well, especially in the touring space this year. Everyone from U2 and The Rolling Stones to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes are back on the road and continuing to inspire generations. If you couldn’t make it to see the big hitters, you should definitely check out Bad Suns, who I think are furthering modern rock ‘n’ roll. Listen to some of their newest tracks, including “Cardiac Arrest” or “This Was A Home Once,” and indulge in this great California-bred alt-rock group.
Silversun Pickups
Lipps Service Podcast alums Silversun Pickups will play on June 27 at Brooklyn Steel, and they’re definitely a band worth catching live. They worked with the iconic Nevermind producer Butch Vig (also a LS alum) on their newest album, 2022’s Physical Thrills, and they have six other amazing albums that I always find myself going back and listening to. To me, they’re reminiscent, a little bit, of early Smashing Pumpkins. If you haven't seen the great episode we did with Silversun Pickups, go back and check it out.
Me with Nikki Monninger and Brian Aubert of Silversun Pickups, after I interviewed them last March in LA.
And then we'll get into some music that I like this week …
